An interview with J.K Rowling

Divorced, living on public assistance in Edinburg with her infant daughter, J.K rowling wrote Harry Potter and Fortunately that book, rescued her.
How old were you when you started to write and what was that?
I wrote my first story when I was six. It was called Rabbit.
Why did you choose to be an author?
I found what I love doing most in the world. And I also found someone to paid to do it.
How do you come up with the names of your characters?
I invented some of them but I also collected strange ones. I've gotten them from medieval saints, maps, directions, and people I've met.
Are your characters based on people you know?
Some of them are, like professor Snape and Gilderoy Lockhart. They both started as exaggerated versions of people I've met. But they became a little different in pages.
Where did the idea for Quidditch come from?
I wanted a sport for wizards with more than one ball so I created this game. The idea amused me. I've still had the notebook I did it in with its diagrams and I settled all the names for balls.
Where did the ideas for wizard classes and magic spells come from?
Most spells are invented but some of them have a basis in what some people believed.
What ingredients all the Harry Potter books need?
I never think in terms of ingredients but I had to name some I'd say humor, strong characters, and watertight plot. Oh and about the scariness I should say I never set out to make people scared but it does creep in.
